Currency & Bank/ATM
The currency used is the US Dollar (US$). Banks and currency exchange offices are located around the city, and ATMs are found in various places throughout Baltimore, MD, including the train stations and airport.
Voltage is 110V, 60 Hz (cycles). The electric plug has two flat blades and – on some newer devices – a third round pin, as shown in the picture below.
Neither the congress organizers, nor TTS, nor IXA, will accept liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of property belonging to congress participants, either during, or as a result of the meeting. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
Restaurants & Tipping
Restaurants: Baltimore offers a wide variety of food and cuisine to suit all tastes. Be sure to try the famous Maryland Blue Crab at a typical crab shack.
Tipping: Tipping is at the discretion of the patron but is usually between 15% to 20%, depending on the quality of the service.
The combined local and state tax rate is 6%.
